Privacy Policy
Nookly (“Nookly”, “we”, “us”) is currently offered as a Beta service based in Davao City, Philippines. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and booking platform (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to comply with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and the rules of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and (for hub owners) your business name and details, when you create an account or sign in (including via Google).
- Contact details: the mobile number you give, either on your profile or on the guest checkout sheet, so the venue can reach you about the booking you made. Giving a number on your profile is optional. At guest checkout an email address is required, because your check-in code is sent to it.
- Booking information: the hubs, spaces, dates, and times you book, and related activity such as check-ins, extensions, and messages with a hub.
- Payment information: none. Nookly does not take payment, does not ask for card or e-wallet details and does not store any. You pay the Venue directly.
- Technical data needed to serve the site: our hosting and database providers process the ordinary request information any website receives, such as your IP address, in order to serve pages and keep the Service secure. Nookly runs no analytics and does not track the pages you view.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service: process bookings, show live availability, enable check-in, and connect customers with hubs.
- To communicate with you about bookings, your account, and important updates.
- To prevent fraud or abuse.
- To understand usage and improve features and reliability.
3. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service: with the hub you book, so they can prepare your seat and recognise you at the counter, and with the service providers that host the site, run the database and sign-in, and send our emails. Nobody processes payments for us, because there are no payments. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information if required by law.
3a. Who at the venue can see your contact details
Not everyone who works at a venue sees the same thing. The owner and a manager can see the email address and mobile number on a booking, because somebody has to be able to reach you if the venue has to move or cancel it. Front desk staff cannot: they see your name, your booking and the last two digits of your number, which is enough to check you in and to confirm the number is yours, and nothing more. This is enforced by the database rather than by what the screen chooses to draw.
4. Maps on hub pages, and the typeface
Some hub pages can show a map of the hub's location, provided by Google Maps. The map is not loaded until you tap Show map. Once you tap it, your browser requests the map directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and can set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy rather than ours. You never have to load the map, and the hub's address is written on the page as plain text either way.
Separately, our pages use a typeface served by Google Fonts, which every page requests as it loads. That request tells Google your IP address and the page you are loading, under Google's privacy policy rather than ours. We would like to serve the typeface ourselves, and this line changes when we do.
5. Cookies and what this browser stores
Nookly sets no cookies. To keep you signed in, your browser stores your session in its own local storage, and a few small preferences are kept the same way, such as whether you have dismissed the install banner. Clearing your browsing data signs you out and clears those preferences. A guest booking made without an account lives in that storage too, so clearing it loses the way back to that booking. Our service worker also keeps a copy of the pages and images that make up the app, so it opens offline: that is a cache of the site itself, not information about you.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
7. Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
9. Children
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over, or for minors with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above.
